Storytime at Riverstone Books takes place every Saturday at 10 a.m. Miss Amy generally reads a story, leads everyone in a fun song, and provides materials and instruction for a simple activity or craft.
For 2018, with the exception of special holiday storytimes, each storytime will focus on a new letter as we work our way through the alphabet. Storytime is recommended for ages 4 -6, but all children are welcome. You can see all upcoming storytimes on our events calendar. We also post them to our Facebook page.
Occasionally we hold special storytimes on different days and times. Follow us on Facebook or sign up for our newsletter for special storytime and event announcements!
Are you a teen who loves YA literature? Literature, period? Are you constantly recommending the next best books to your friends? We’re recruiting teens to be members of the Riverstone Books Teen Council (cooler name to be created by the group)
The Riverstone Books Teen Council is a small group of young people between the ages of 12 and 16 with wide-ranging backgrounds and interests. Council members will help shape our programming for pre-teens and teens by sharing their opinions about what types of exciting literary experiences Riverstone can offer. Council members can read ARC’s (Advance Reader Copies – books that are coming out in the future) to help us decide what to order. Great new talent? Provocative subject? Classic in the making? We want your opinion on what authors to carry!
All members of the Riverstone Books Teen Council also receive free membership in our Riverstone Great Readers program (10% off every purchase), advance notice of our events and events organized by our partner, Bookish in the ‘Burgh. Riverstone Books Teen Council will meet four times per year in the store. Interested? Fill out the form below or come into the store and pick up a physical copy.
We are looking for interested students from grade 3 to 12 to help us start book clubs like these below!
