Celebrate Beatrix Potter's Birthday

In honor of Beatrix Potter’s 153 rd birthday, please join us on Sunday, July 28th from 1-3 PM for an illustrated talk and tea. Ann Troxell of the Beatrix Potter Society will present an informative program covering the varied “careers” of Beatrix Potter.

Many people only know her as the author and illustrator of the 23 “Little Books” for children.Since 1902 The Tale of Peter Rabbit has been reprinted 300 times, and sold over 40 million copies worldwide.

Please come and learn more about the interests and talents of this extraordinary woman: naturalist (she produced over 500 natural history drawings), conservationist, farmer and social reformer.Once you see the landscape that inspired her, it becomes clear that drawing, showcasing and ultimately saving the Lake District was her greatest achievement of all.

Please RSVP here as seating is limited.
